Viktor MakhnovichViktor Makhnovich was born in Minsk in 1982. At the age of six his exceptional musical talent was first discovered. On the recommendation of his music teacher he applied for the music high school in 1991 at the belarus state music academy in Minsk. He passed the entrance examination and from thereon he started his musical career. In July 2000 he successfully graduated from high school, thereby receiving the qualification „ Choirmaster Assistant, Artist of the Choir/Ensemble“. In 2000 Viktor continued his way on becoming a professional musician by taking up studies of Choirleading and Piano at the belarus state music academy. During his studies he founded and led a male vocal ensemble between 1999 and 2004, with whom he performed several concerts domestic and abroad. During his musical education, he discovered more and more his love for jazz. He had his initial experiences when performing jazz standards and self-composed and -arranged compositions with his male vocal ensemble. He developed a desire to become a professional jazz musician in order to understand jazz and improvisation. In 2003 he decided to go to Germany and to expand his studies in Munich on the Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium/Hochschule of Music and Theater in the fields of jazz piano and music education. After having graduated in 2008 with a degree in music education, he continued in 2010 with „the artistic diploma“ another peak in his career. For this he wrote his own Composition; "Five Seasons". The element "Dance" (summer) is included in the repertoire of City M and on the debut CD. Since 2006 Viktor has been active as a piano teacher of classical piano, jazz and free improvisation, as well as a freelance artist. He has played in numerous concerts at home and abroad (eg. Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Bulgaria) and enjoys his diverse talents both as a solo pianist and as a member of various band formations in the fields of jazz, soul, funk, rock and pop.
